Chapter One Let's You Find The First Skandha Quickly

Three of the five Skandhas in Black Myth: Wukong can be located without relative trouble, as is the case with the first Skandha, Skandha of Form . Simply explore environments looking for Buddha statue heads. This formula gets slightly trickier in Chapter Two and then again in Chapter Six, adding side quests and mini-bosses. More importantly, the Zodiac Village side quest is required to fulfill the Five Skandhas Achievement.

Playing naturally, it behooves the Destined One to access Zodiac Village anyway, so unique weapons and armor can be crafted and upgraded. For now, focus on collecting the first Skandha.

In Chapter One, in the stream bed area of the Forest of Wolves, the first Buddha head can be found. If you’re observant, the game guides the player’s attention to key Buddha heads with the appearance of strange creatures scratching at the statues.

The beast will scamper away upon the player’s approach. Interact with the head to extract Skandha of Form. Open up your inventory and notice the description of the key item reads, “‘Man shrinks at odor, but smiles at beauty, which is only natural. Once hidden inside the Buddhas’s head, this treasure has a secret yet to be revealed.”

Complete A Side Quest In Chapter Two To Earn The Next Skandha

Chapter Two teaches you a valuable lesson about the quest for Skandhas: that their retrieval will not always be straightforward. That said, still be on the lookout for the statues of the Buddha head. To find the hidden Skandha in Yellow Sand Ridge, complete the Eyes of Buddha quest.

There are six statues in Black Myth: Wukong with eyes to be extracted. Once all six are collected, head to Rockrest Flat. If you fought Stone Vanguard, that’s where you find a hard-to-miss boulder with stone faces protruding out of it. Interact with the boulder to awaken Shigandang. Defeat this boss to earn Skandha of Feeling .

Chapter Three's Skandha Is Another Easy Grab

No tricky side quests are necessary in Chapter Three. Just a daunting, cold mountain to fight through. Once you reach the Valley of Ecstasy, the third Skandha will not be far from the Mindfulness Cliff Keeper’s Shrine. Continue up the main path for a short time until you reach a rickety wood bridge.

From here, drop into a cave area. Run or fight past enemies to an open-air mountain bend that leads into another cave. Through the cave, up a flight of stairs, the Buddha head is impossible to miss. Interact with it and pocket Skandha of Thought .

Near The Purifying Spring, The Fourth Skandha Awaits

Chapter Four is where the Destined One will locate the penultimate Skandha, Skandha of Choice . The last Skandha to collect before the secret phase of the quest can be initiated. Luckily, this Skandha is one more simple snatch-and-grab item. In Webbed Hollow, access The Purifying Spring Keeper’s Shrine.

The path to the Buddha head is windy, but ultimately, look for the pond. Move down the left side of the water, and this statue will appear quite clearly on a slight ridge. Now that four of the Skandhas have been claimed, progress to Chapter Six, where an optional boss awaits.

How To Find Skandha of Consciousness

Fly On The Cloud To The Secret Boss's Lair

Traversal is made easier in Chapter Six by flying around on a cloud, as seen in the game’s prologue. You will need to ride the cloud to the location of a secret boss who holds the Skandha of Consciousness . Thank Buddha for the cloud since the distance to travel is quite far.

In the Foothills at the Verdant Path Keeper’s Shrine, take your cloud across the valley of the lake into a less verdant canyon. Through the canyon, find Giant Shigadang’s lair. Slay the boulder, and a long cutscene will play. With all five Skandhas in possession, claim your reward from Xu Dog.

How To Find Xu Dog In Zodiac Village

The Merchant Will Give You The Five Skandhas Pill

The final phase of the Five Skandhas quest depends on completing a previous quest in Black Myth: Wukong. If the Destined One has unlocked travel to Zodiac Village by confronting Chen Loong in Chapter Three, then there isn’t much work left to do. Simply return to Zodiac Village and interact with Xu Dog to earn a substantial reward. If you skipped this quest, don’t worry. It involves loading into different areas, but the combat trials should be no match for a high-level Destined One.

Find Chen Loong on the snowy mountain and face off against the dragon. Then, track down Xu Dog back in Crouching Tiger Temple. Acquire the Special-made Bone-Strengthening Pellet and return to Chen Loong. In Zodiac Village, you’ll have access to unique upgrades. Here, deliver the Five Skandhas to Xu Dog and receive the Five Skandhas Pill , permanently boosting your stats in Black Myth: Wukong.
